Pathologies of the Nervous System

PATH-0301 - Pathologies of the Nervous System

Nerve-Related Conditions, Contraindications, and Cautions for Massage Therapists

The nervous system is the body's communication highwayβ€”sending, sensing, and coordinating every movement, sensation, and internal function. When it malfunctions, clients may experience pain, numbness, paralysis, muscle weakness, emotional dysregulation, or chronic illness.
This 4-hour course provides massage therapists with a working knowledge of common nervous system pathologies, including peripheral nerve compression, degenerative conditions, infections, trauma, and psychiatric considerations. Emphasis will be placed on clinical indicators, red flags, contraindications, and when and how to adapt massage therapy to safely support clients living with neurological conditions.
