Massage therapy supports the body's dance between structure and function—between anatomy and physiology. Bodies in Balance is the third course in the MBLExsplained Series, focused on physiological systems, clinical conditions, and massage-relevant pathologies as required by the MBLEx exam. In this 16-hour intensive, students will explore the body’s interdependent systems—from cells to organs—and how they behave in health, illness, and repair. Through clear lectures, collaborative case reviews, mock questions, and embodied activities, this course bridges the gap between complex medical terminology and everyday client care. We review not only how the body works, but why it breaks down, how to recognize red flags, and how massage can safely support healing or refer out with clarity and confidence.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Art, in its initial stage, is science. Science, in it's highest form, is art.
Scientist, artist, and synergist Social-benefit entrepreneur Professional bodyworker and teacher Nourisher of bodies and ecologies Earthling
