Structural Anatomy and Kinesiology of the Leg, Ankle and Foot

Leg, Ankle & Foot Anatomy and Kinesiology for Grounded Movement

ANAT-KINE-0207 - Leg, Ankle & Foot Anatomy and Kinesiology for Grounded Movement

Arches, Alignment, and Propulsion in the Lower Kinetic Chain

Every step begins at the foot, transferring energy upward in a symphony of joint articulation, muscular response, and fascial adaptation. This course explores the architecture and function of the leg, ankle, and footβ€”mapping their roles in balance, propulsion, and adaptability. Students will investigate anatomical landmarks, joint mechanics, and muscular layers through guided movement and palpation, supporting clinically informed, grounded, and graceful therapeutic work. This course explores the leg, ankle, and foot, focusing on the structures that support balance, locomotion, and grounded presence. Students learn about tibia/fibula, ankle complex, tarsals, metatarsals, phalanges, and the myofascial lines that cross them. Attention is given to arches, pronation/supination, and how foot mechanics affect knees, hips, and spinal alignment.
