The cardiovascular system is a vast internal river, tirelessly circulating life through the terrain of the body. This course invites students to explore the anatomy and physiology of the heart, blood, and vessels with awe and precision. From the pulse of the cardiac cycle to the red richness of blood and the winding paths of arteries and veins, learners will gain insight into the body’s inner tides and how massage, movement, and breath can support healthy circulation.

Learning Objectives & Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will:

  • Describe the components and functions of the cardiovascular system
  • Understand the structure and role of blood and its elements
  • Identify the chambers, valves, and vessels of the heart
  • Explain the cardiac cycle and the basics of blood pressure regulation
  • Trace the pathways of blood through systemic and pulmonary circulation
  • Recognize the major types of blood vessels and their roles in systemic flow

This course is open to all students. Completion of ANAT-PHYS 0301 is encouraged for foundational clarity, though this class may also serve as a focused introduction to the circulatory system.
