This warm and welcoming introduction to human anatomy invites students to explore the elegant architecture of the body with reverence, curiosity, and a sense of embodied discovery. Designed for massage therapy and movement arts students, this course establishes the essential language and spatial orientation needed to navigate deeper studies of anatomy and kinesiology.

While no formal prerequisites exist for enrollment, students will benefit from bringing curiosity, openness to experiential learning, and willingness to engage in movement explorations. Helpful Background Experience
Although not required, the following experiences may enhance the learning process:

Required Materials
Comfortable Clothing
Loose-fitting, stretchy attire suitable for movement explorations and partner exercises. Layered clothing is recommended as temperature needs may vary during different activities. Students should wear clothing that allows for unrestricted movement through all ranges of motion.
Notebook or Journal
A dedicated notebook for class notes, reflections, and sketches. Students are encouraged to document their somatic experiences and insights alongside technical information. Visual learners may benefit from bringing colored pencils for anatomical drawings.
Computer Access
Students need access to a computer with internet connection for viewing supplemental materials, completing online exercises, and accessing the course's digital resources. This can be a personal laptop or a shared computer used outside of class time.
